Daycare

We finally found a daycare. Hubbs and I knew from the get go she was the real deal (only after searching and visiting many hell holes and meeting all kinds of weirdos. that was a fun experience). I checked her license and she has no complaints on her record. Although I don't go back to work until the second week in March, we decided it would be a good idea for Sonya to go a couple times before she starts full time, that way she is used to a new place.

Hubbs made me select a day this week and today was the day she went. I dropped her off around 10:30 a.m. and picked her up at 2:30 p.m. I ran numerous errands while she was there to keep my mind off the fact that she was there. I know it would of been harder if I was just at home doing chores. Dropped things off at Goodwill, went to the bank, went to a baby boutique downtown, got a pedicure and had a doctor's appt.

When I picked her up she was totally mellow and did not cry at all on the way home. She has been in a really good mood since so I feel better about her going to daycare. I know it is hard the first few times, or maybe it never gets easier. Once I am back at work she will be going three days a week. The other days she will be home with me. My boss is letting me have a flexible schedule which entails me working from home two days. I am really happy about the arrangement.

Umm... off the subject, but how stunning did Michelle Obama look yesterday in not only that yellow-green outfit but also the white gown? Seriously, that lady is chic.

Here is a pic of my little pumpkin grinning for her mommy!

Look how cute her overalls are!!! I love that picture.

I am so glad that you found someplace that you like and feel comfortable leaving her. I need to start looking around too...but I am having a hard time even getting started. :(

She is absolutely precious!!!

Sounds like you found a good daycare. That's great! And it's good that you got to drop her off for half a day one week. When I had to take Bayley, I was sobbing the whole way there. My hubby was hugging me saying that it would be fine. When we walked in, they handed me tissues because they expected me to cry. lol.
It was hard that first day. But it has gotten easier. And I don't mind taking her now. I just look forward to the end of the day when I go pick her up. She's SO excited to see me and we have a great time once we get home.

Sorry for my ramble. :)

Leaving a child at daycare didn't get easier for me until H turned 2. Then I was thrilled to get a few hours away every day. But finding the right one is SO important. I'm glad you found one you liked.

I hated both Michelle's outfits. I thought the suit was ill-fitting and a hideous color and the dress was SO unflattering on her. She is so tall, she should have gone for sleek with both outfits, not frumpy.

she's so cute & happy.

proud of you for getting through the first day.
wasn't it kind of nice to just be care-free to run your errands???

She is so cute! I'm really happy that you found a daycare you like. It's hard to leave babies- I have to watch videos of Cole at work sometimes because I miss him, and I only work 4 hours a day in the office!

I hope you are feeling better- btw! You should eat more French dips. : )
