Roots
There have been times that we have discussed moving into a bigger metro area where there are greater opportunities. But those moments are fleeting because because we then realize how nice it is living where you grew up and close to family. Granted I continue to run into old classmates at Costco, the mall or Starbuck's, and rarely can remember their names and sometimes look like I just rolled out of bed.
The other day on my way to dropping off Sonya at Daycare I realize that a doctor's office complex that I pass every day was where one of my high school boyfriends and I would go to make out in his car at night. So cliche, I know. We were at dinner the other night at a restaurant and I realized I had gone to it prior to a dance with my date and a group of friends. Last Saturday, there was a group of Prom goers eating at the same place we were. It brought back so many memories that are getting more and more fuzzy with age.
Unlike a lot of people, I really enjoyed high school. If I could go back and relive some moments, I would in a heart beat. I was popular, preferred to be a spectator at sporting events rather than play them (unless you count JV Softball bench warming). I had plenty of friends and boyfriends. I was however, not a Mean Girl. I never participated in backstabbing, saying nasty things about people or left notes on anyone's car or had any left on mine for that matter. Plus people knew better than to mess with my '88 Ford Tempo, which was called the "Empo" because some douche bag ripped off the "T" at a party I was at. I can't remember how I explained that one to my dad. I was active in Student Government and loved going to dances and planning the rallies and talent shows. I was involved in high school programs through the YMCA. They all helped me build confidence and relationships with people at my school I might not have if I was not involved with those things. I feel I had a variety of friends in various clicks.
I think since my house was so dysfunctional I really focused on extra-curricular activities to help me not get cooped up at home. I always had a handful of guy friends who I hung out with regularly. I think their friendships also shielded me from getting caught up in drama that some of my girlfriends were always tangled up in. Probably why I only am in touch with about 2 people from high school. Once I met the hubbs I realized who my real friends were and through the years I have those two. And that's all I need. It's about quality, not quantity.
I am not saying I was perfect and that I did not have my insecure moments. I definitely gossiped like everyone else in the school, and know I was gossiped about too. But I rarely let it get to me. I knew I needed to have as much fun because time would just fly by.
My 10 Year Reunion is next June. Not sure if I will be attending. I don't really want to as our school's reunions are notoriously pathetic in both turnout and venue.
What I can say, is that I like having roots in this town. I like seeing something when I am driving and get taken back down memory lane to a wild night in high school, or even something earlier on. Passing the park where I swung on a swing for the first time. The lake where I was a lifeguard. The roller rink where I went to so many birthday parties. All those memories are things I will point out to my Sonya some day (just not the make-out spots) as we are driving around. I must say I am looking forward to it.

Stain Stick Fever
Yesterday on my way to work I slurped my Cinnamon Dolce Latte a little too much and it splattered right across the front of my favorite white top. FAVORITE!!!!! I knew it was going to happen. I almost stuck a straw in my drink like the lady at Starbucks driving the white Range Rover in her work out clothes at 9 a.m. (byatch). So I made a detour back home and changed and applied my worthless stain remover to it right away. That one might actually come out, but the baby food....not so much.
Hubbs installed XM in my car. I have never been happier. Now I can flip from 80's on 8 to Howard Stern (which I reluctantly now enjoy) to heck, classical music if I so please, all commercial free!

Dear Target....***
hand soap
baby food grinder
bottles
sponges
Walked out with:
baby food grinder
Baby Einstein DVD
Pink shorts for Sonya
bottles
tag along toys for Sonya's car seat
So I forgot the hand soap and sponges because I was too busy deciding on which of the shirts I was going to buy for myself. It wasn't until I was in the check out line that I said "eff it!" I'm not buying me any shirts! And I had a list right in front of me. Today was actually a good day. Some times when your clothes are cuter (which they aren't right now, you might want to give Isaac Mizrahi a little ring a ding and have him get his act together real soon) I get a little more crazy.
Maybe it is the popcorn smell or the lighting, the way things are displayed, I just have the urge to fill my cart. You make me weak Target, weak at the knees, err purse strings.
Sincerely,
Missy Marshmallow

We're All Sick Up In Here

So sick
So little Sonya has been super sick. Had a cold last week with just some snotty nose business but now she has a nasty cough and even more snot. Took her to the Ped yesterday and they said it was just a typical cold. She was super cranky on Easter but she still looked so adorable in her Easter Dress. Photos to come.
Aside from that, I have been up a lot with her the past couple of nights, refilling the humidifier and suctioning the snot out of her nose with a nose bulb. Which she hates. It is supposed to get really warm this weekend (mid 80's people). I can't wait to put her in her shorts. Hopefully she will be rid of this stupid bug by then.
Allergies have picked up around these parts. I feel like I have constant sinus pressure. It sucks.

Rash Mash
Hubbs was sick this weekend. Typical hubbs cold. I thought I was getting sick but it never really materialized. I have been getting crazy hot flashes, basically like I am having a fever. Then I realized I had a bladder infection and maybe the fever is related. My doctor and I have been playing phone tag so I am still unsure what ailes me.
Work is crazy now. I am in my fourth week back and the work load is on. At first I thought it would be nice and mellow but now the time I am at work I am seriously hustlin'. It's okay though, makes the days go by much quicker.
Yesterday I went to a baby shower where scallops and lamb shanks were served, it was 4 courses ( small courses ). I left wanting Carl's Jr. but got a hold of myself and came home to eat carrot sticks. Not a lamb fan. I dunno, just don't care for the taste. It is weird to me.
It seems like I have been whining a lot in this post. Guess it's a sign to say "over and out" because I am tired and therefore whining.

Simple Life
Some times I just want to live in a small "one horse" town where everyone knows your name. Where jeans and flannel shirts are the norm for out and about wear. Where people drive pick ups with their dogs in the front seat. Where there is actually a mom & pop supermarket, bakery, shoe repair, and just one stop light. Where going to DQ is stepping out. Where weekends are filled not at the mall, running errands or cleaning house, but sitting on the front porch, fishing at the lake or just being, well, simple. Less stress. Less material things to worry about.
But then I watch the news and see a small town in North Dakota who are living that simple life, put sand bags around their home of 25 years to protect it from the rising and freezing waters of the Red River. These poor people, are farmers and small business owners. As they watch their homes get flooded, family artifacts, their furniture...get washed away, I realize that the lives of those I once thought were simple, just aren't so simple anymore.
That's just my random thought for the day. And I don't really know if I would be down for flannel shirts, but they at least sound comfortable.

Belated Birthday
We celebrated my b-day with the rest of my family on Saturday night at my parents house. My mom made me some fried chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy, soft rolls and shrimp-mandarin salad. The meal was topped off with my requested dessert of carrot cake. My mom got me this super cute long cardigan from J-Crew. LOVE IT. She also got me some other clothes which I so need right now.
It was a good time to be had and I can't believe another year has gone by so quickly.

Tight Wad Tuesday
Because my parents were huge savers and coupon clippers and very conservative with their money while also putting two kids through college without loans, I have taken those traits with me into adulthood. But I don't think I am as good as a penny pincher as they are. In a sense I am, I only buy things that are on sale, buy store brands (in the supermarket) if the name brand is not on sale and search out the best deal on the Internet for something before I purchase. Rarely do I just buy something without putting some thought into it. I feel the items I just randomly purchase usually are the ones that are not used and just a waste of money.
So due to the rocky economy and my cheap ass inherited traits, I am going to try and have a Tuesday focus blog called "Tight Wad Tuesday". Each week I will focus on something that has great value at a low price. This week is just an intro and next week I will pick an item. I know, super original, but it gives me a chance to get out of my writing rut.
Being home for 5 months I have discovered the hidden treasures in stores like Ross, TJ Maxx and Marshall's. I have them ranked by which ones have better housewares (Ross), better baby clothes (Ross and TJ Maxx) and better designer clothing brands (Marshall's, hello I saw a pair of Hudson jeans there for 75% off!) I have also fallen in love with our outlet mall. I usually did not frequent it much but that has changed. I love the Carter's, Gymboree and Oshkosh stores and have found amazing deals at the GAP and Banana Republic stores too. As you mama's know, babies go through so many clothes so I am always looking for cute outfits for Sonya.
So with that I am closing my first Tight Wad Tuesday that consisted of meaningless chatter about being cheap and finding jeans at Marshall's.
Over and out.

Say No to Strangers
Personally, I would feel kind of bad if a baby only cried at me when I came around. Lisa did not mind since our niece did that at her age. I secretly am flattered that I am the one she clings to even though I know she should get used to others.
I have a hard time when people are holding Sonya and being super high strung. In particular, hubbs' mom and grandparents are very much, how do I say this... "in your face" when it comes to playing with her. My theory is to have her discover things. Their theory is to shake things in front of her face (is normally okay to do if you are doing it gently, but they are obnoxious about it) and then they wonder why she gets frustrated. If she cries they chalk it up to her having a belly ache. I want to yell "she does not have a f*&^%*$^ belly ache, she doesn't like what you are doing!" She is a mellow baby and is not a fan of 15 modes of stimulation all at the same time. How do I voice these things to them politely? It really gets on my nerves. They are VERY loving people but are SOOOOO sensitive and I don't want to hurt their feelings at all, but in another sense, she is my daughter and they should respect my wishes whether they agree with me or not.
If my own parents are doing something I don't like, I quickly let them know, they may grumble a bit but I know they will listen and stop something that I don't like. I don't have a great relationship with my dad, he pisses me off a ton, but I actually am quite comfortable when he is with Sonya for some reason. I guess there are just people who are more natural around babies than others.
I guess I just had no idea how fired up I could get about the way people handle themselves around my daughter. I know part of it is just being a mom and feeling strongly protective, but the other part is the people who act weird around her are completely clueless. I want to know how to navigate around these dicey situations. I want people to respect me and hubb's wishes without getting all bent out of shape. Any words of wisdom?

9 to 5
I was sad after I dropped Sonya off at daycare but my day has been very busy so I have not had a hard time focusing on other things. Plus, my boss and coworkers sent me a gorgeous bouquet of flowers to welcome me back.
Tomorrow I will work from home so this week was pretty easy in terms of a back to work transition.

15 lbs. and Counting
Sonya's 4 month appt. was today. She was 15 lbs. 4 oz. and is 25 inches long. Got the okay to start her on rice cereal, but I think I will wait until I get my new work schedule down before I try it. Also, I need to get a high chair. I am looking at the Peg Perego Prima Pappa one. It is more expensive but my cousin has one and it has lasted through three kids and still looks good. Does anyone have any recommendations? I want one that does not stand out too much in our dining room, can be easily cleaned and moved.
Off to put down the little munchkin for a nap. She is a bit tired from her shots. By the way, this time she barely cried. Hubb's sent me down the hall while she got them so I wouldn't cry like last time. I was a babbling mess at her 2 month check up.
Word.

Work it
So since I am going back to work soon (boo) I decided I needed to incorporate a fitness routine with my new work and baby routine. I remember Jen saying how much Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred worked, so I went ahead and ordered it. I hate going to the gym. I would much rather do things at home. But I don't like working out for long periods of time or else I get bored and lose interest, or maybe it is just me getting too exhausted. Anyhoo, I need something 30 minutes or less which is why I picked this one. Also, I can't find my 20 minute Winsor Pilates DVD. I think I lost it when we moved and am hoping to rediscover it one of these days, like when I decide to go through all of my old Donald Duck trinkets I collected when I was 12, or 18....or 26. I am super bummed I lost it, it really is the best work out ever. It helped me get super toned before we got married.
Either way, we'll see how that 30 Day Shred goes, thinking about starting it on Friday.... we'll see.
Sonya is rolling all over the place now. No longer can she be content on her back on the activity mat, she is now rolling over and over and over! It is so cute.

Wrapping Up
I'm going back to work in 9 days. How did 5 months go by so quickly? Where did the time go? I have appreciated every second of every day that I have been with our child. I am lucky, a lot of companies have shorter maternity leaves, but it still just does not seem like long enough.
Staying home is not an option. Living in Northern California is EXPENSIVE , even during this crappy economy, thus requiring two incomes to have a decent lifestyle. You don't know how many times I think about moving to somewhere else where it is cheaper to live where I can stay at home. But then you give up being close to family, friends and the place you called home. Both of our families live here. I want my daughter to know her grandparents and not just see them at major holidays. I think about this A LOT. A lot more than I tell hubbs. I know I would be so alone living so far away. My mom is my best friend, I see her about every couple of days, I can't imagine being a 5 hour plane ride away instead of a 10 minute drive.
I hope that once I get back to work, I start feeling better. I think everything will work out in my head. I will be working from home two days a week so Sonya will only be in daycare three days a week, but I just can't shake the guilt that I know is so common to moms going back to work. I know once I am back in the office interacting with my fellow colleagues, who also have kids in daycare, that my spirits will lift, but until then I am blue. I keep trying to soak it all in. I don't want to share Sonya with anyone. I want her all to myself. Seriously, look at this face, how could to you not?
We went to dinner last week with hubbs' grandparents who try to see Sonya as much as possible. While hubbs' grandma sat holding Sonya, I just wanted to reach across the table and grab her from her. I didn't want to share her! I feel bad for being like this, but in a sense, I feel like I have the right to be like this. I am going back to work soon, and I don't want to share. I'm the mom. Period.
The other day I asked my mom (who is a teacher) if she thought that kids that had a stay at home mom had different relationships with their moms than those whose mom's worked while they were little. She simply said "no". We then talked about the two of us and how my mom worked when I was a baby and how she is my best friend now. I did not feel abandoned when I was little because my mom worked. In fact, I actually looked up to her. Even at a young age, I realized the amount of items she could tackle in one day. I admired all that she could do; make use healthy lunches, get us to school on time, get herself to work on time, pick us up from daycare, fix a fabulous dinner (she IS the best cook I know), help us with our homework and still have time to give us undivided attention whenever we needed it. But most of all, we were so loved. I always was taken care of and nurtured without being spoiled. I hope that my daughter can look up to me like the way I look up to my mom.
Each day back at work will get a little easier, but I know there will still be those days that I picture me, hubbs', Sonya, Lucy and Patty all packed up in a U-Haul headed for some place more affordable, where I can stay at home, and be with my Sonya every morning, day and night.

Ramblings- Part Whatever
Was I the only one not impressed with the dresses at the Oscars? I know we are in a recession, but that doesn't mean you have to get rid of color, ladies!
I don't think I am a good cook anymore. I think it's because I am always rushing through and not taking the time to make sure I am seasoning things properly. The last couple of dishes I have made have been bland. I HATE bland food. I might as well just starve. Well, you know what I mean. And remember my lasagne debacle from Christmas Eve? Case in point.
I believe little Sonya is starting to get her teeth. I know, it seems pretty early. For the last couple of weeks she is always shoving her hands in her mouth. She has been drooling for a month and a half and now she is always gnawing on her hands or whatever she can get in her mouth. She's a bit fussier and when she cries, it sounds like she is in pain. She kind of likes her teething toy, I think it makes her feel better. If I look closely I think I can see two little bumps on her bottom gums. I thought this is not supposed to happen until 6 months at the earliest???? I am curious to see how this will make breastfeeding.

It's All About Boobies
Prior to giving birth I was nervous that I would have a hard time with it. You hear so many things about women whose milk never came in, low supply or latching problems, so it was always in the back of my mind. I did cut myself some slack, knowing that if I did have a problem, formula was not a bad thing. It is just my belief that the nutritional benefits is better with breastfeeding.
Sonya was in the NICU for a couple of days since she had fluid in her lungs right after she was born. She was hooked up to IV's and I could barely hold her, let alone breastfeed. The hospital lactation consultant was having me pump 8 times per day to get my supply going since I could not nurse. It was frustrating and depressing to say the least. I did not get the chance for Sonya to be in my room as we tried to breastfeed. I did not get my first chance until she was 2 days old. The doctors would not release her until they saw that she would be fine off of IV's. The NICU nurses stood by me every step of the way as I sat in the NICU on a chair, Sonya hooked up to all kinds of cords while I fumbled around trying to get her to latch on. Since I still did not have my milk, the nurses gave her formula through either a bottle, finger feeding or attaching a small tube to my boob while she attempted to nurse.
Once the doctors saw that she knew how to latch on we were free to go and also given some formula to use until my milk came in. It finally did about 4 or 5 days after she was born and I have been loving breastfeeding since. Despite the nipple blisters in the beginning (ouch!), it has been so rewarding. To me when I breastfeed Sonya, it is the time where we are the closest, both physically and emotionally. I feel it has been a great bonding experience and I know I am so lucky to be able to experience it. I always know that no matter how pissed off she is, giving her the boob will always calm her down. And the nutritional value is an obvious added bonus.
Right around when she was 3 weeks old we started giving her bottles of pumped milk. It usually at night when she is hungriest. I use low flow nipples on the bottles to not confuse her and so she still has to work for it. Now I give her bottles whenever we go out anywhere in public. I have yet to breastfeed in public. I just don't think I am good at it since whenever I use the Hooter Hider at home when company is around, she gets mad from being too hot or having something over her.
I don't know how long I will breastfeed for. I will kind of just play it by ear. I already can tell my supply has gone down a bit so I have supplemented with formula every once and awhile. Once I go back to work I will continue pumping throughout the day but I am sure we will continue to supplement when needed.
I love breastfeeding Sonya. It has been such an awesome experience. It took some determination to get past the first few weeks of learning the technique and for her to learn to latch properly. I am grateful for the lactation consultant who always took my phone calls.
Off the boob track... the other day I was boiling a bunch of her pacifiers to sterilize them (I do have a sterilizer you stick in the microwave but it is too annoying for me) and I contemplated tossing in some eggs to hard boil at the same time. What's wrong with multi-tasking? I made the wise decision and opted to just use another pan for the eggs, who knows where those eggs have been...like maybe a chicken or something.

V-Day, Hail, Giggles, Yadda, Yadda, Yadda
For dinner we went to a restaurant that does not take reservations. Big Mistake. Note to file for next year, go to restaurant which takes rezzies. We got there at 6:15 and did not sit down until 7 p.m. Riots almost ensued in the waiting area when the host started calling people out of turn. Sonya slept in her car seat carrier the entire time but as soon as we were seated she woke up. Dinner was not as good as they usually are there and it was so freaking crowded, but I was in good company, so that is all that matters.
We spent the evening drinking flat champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.
Yesterday it hailed so hard and so much that even after an hour of it hailing, there were still piles of hail on rooftops and sidewalks.
Sonya just started to laugh. Within the last week she has busted out a belly laugh a handful of times. Like when she learned how to smile, there is little rhyme or reason to what causes the laughter (except for the goofy noises and faces I make). It is the cutest thing I have ever seen.
Last night at the in-laws house for dinner, hubb's grandma was able to get a laugh out of her. Everyone was jealous that she had the magic touch (well, besides me, since I already do!).

Around the Ol' Homestead
As I am writing this I hear Sonya farting so loud while asleep in car seat carrier (we just got home from running errands). On Tuesday I took her to the doctor because she had a pretty bad diaper rash that was not going away. The ped ran an hour behind!!!! Good thing she was perfect and did not get fussy in that hour. The ped just prescibed a Cortisone cream it is already starting to clear up.
It's finally started to act like winter around here, by winter, I mean rain. Which I love. Yesterday I took Sonya out for a drive around this neighborhood which I want to move to one day. It is the kind of neighborhood with huge grown trees, Victorian and Tudor style homes and uneven streets. I love old homes. That's the thing about living on the West Coast, the historical homes are not as plentiful as the East Coast. The neighborhood never has homes for sale because it is that perfect. While we drove around the rain was dumping down. The neighborhood school had huge cut out hearts in the windows that the students had made for Valentine's Day. I envisioned myself in one of the houses on the street, snuggled up next to a fire with my daughter.
Speaking of Valentine's Day. We don't have much for plans. Since it is on a Saturday we will probably just be low-key. We'll do the dinner thing, but nothing fancy since we will have little snicklefritz with us. I asked for See's candy from the hubbs. What a cliche, but seriously, my sweet tooth has been craving it! Does anyone else have wild plans?
Sonya's farts must of woken her up. Off to go get her!

Snicklefritz
A couple of random things that have been going on around the Marshmallow homestead. Hubbs and I went and saw Gran Torino last weekend while my parents watched Sonya. It was a really good movie. I am surprised Clint Eastwood was not nominated for at least Best Director. We also saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Was I the only one who thought that movie was over rated? For the most part I like Brad Pitt, but I was not impressed. It was an "okay" movie in my books. Definitely no Forrest Gump.
We also rented Pineapple Express. It was pretty funny but got way too goofy at the end. In the movie, a type of weed "Snicklefritz" is mentioned. That is what my grandma (who was German) and my mom called me when I was little and is what my mom now calls Sonya. I thought that was the funniest moment.
I got my hair done the other day and I am now way too blonde. I told my hair stylist to make me look Scandinavian (which I am) and now I look like the freaking St. Pauli girl. I am naturally blonde but these super blonde highlights just might be a bit too much for this mama. I don't know, she said she could put in a couple more low lights if I wanted. Since I was so shocked with the color I did not even really pay attention to her cutting my hair and walked out and was astonished at how short it was. I cut it right before I gave birth because it was getting so dry and I have really been liking my blunt, sits on the collar bone length but now it is a bob. Oh, well, my prenatal vitamins make my hair grow really quickly so it should get back to my desired length in no time. I still take them since I am breastfeeding.
Ever since my niece's 3rd birthday the other weekend where my sister-in-law made Sprinkles cupcakes, I have been craving cupcakes. I think Hubbs and I might need to venture down to the local cupcake shop for Valentine's Day and get a Red Velvet cupcake. Sounds so good right now...

The Post That Is Very LONNNNNGGGG
I have so many more emotions racing through me each day. There are days that I am down, days that I am nothing but happy. Days that I am stressed and days that I am laid back. Some days I am motivated to exercise, some days all I want to do is sit on the couch watching Food Network and snuggle with Sonya. Some days I am obsessed with keeping the house clean, while others I don't care if hubbs balls his socks up and tosses them across the room to the hamper and misses thus resulting in an endless pile of dirty balled up socks.
Being a mom is a hard job but would not trade it for anything. As a whole, I have never felt this complete. I feel like I am kind of a natural at this motherhood thing, but at the same time trying to learn the ropes. I look at other moms and see how they are able to get a feast on the table every night while juggling their careers and a couple of kids and wonder "how the heck?". Do you ever get it right? Or are you always learning as you go?
Sonya fills my heart with so much happiness. I am literally counting the days I go back to work. I can't believe I have 5 weeks left. Time has flown by. I wonder how I will be when I go back to work. Will I still be a good mom? Will I be more stressed because I will be trying to cram so many things into one day? Will dinners turn into grilled cheese and soup? These are the things that race through my head all the time.
I guess I will get more confident as time goes on, but until then I feel like a mess of emotions.

Pure Pageantry
The clip I saw was of a little girl getting ready for a pageant all dolled up with a spray tan, fake veneer teeth, teased hair and a full face of make up prancing around in the mirror saying "I look good". The image was just so not right, in fact it was utterly disturbing. How can these moms dress up their toddler daughters to look so cheap? Apparently the mom's argument for doing this outlandish kind of thing is to teach their daughters confidence. Whatever happened to ballet and tap dancing? Now they have to parade on around on stage like the girls at the local gentleman's club. I don't think that is teaching them confidence. I think it is teaching them that looks are EVERYTHING. Which life is not about.
I would never in my wildest dreams make Sonya participate in something like that. I am thinking more along the lines of soccer, tap, ballet or whatever else she wanted, but nothing whose sole focus to success was based on the whiteness of your teeth and the level of your hair. And of course she will need to like it and enjoy it, or else, we don't need to do it. I don't want to make her or force her do it.
I'll get off my soap box now. Gotta go pump!

Boogers
We went to my niece's 3rd birthday party on Saturday night. It was crazy. Little kids running around everywhere. They were all pretty well behaved. I thought there was going to be way more tantrums but they were good. My sister in law made Red Velvet cupcakes. The frosting was soooo thick it was hard not to go for seconds! I love cupcakes. I could eat cupcakes for dinner. Maybe I will make them for Superbowl. Speaking of Superbowl... what are we going to be doing? We have a massive t.v. so Hubbs always refuses to go to anyone else's party because he says we have the best view on our couch. I can't really disagree with him. Does anyone have any cool Superbowl plans?

Daycare
Hubbs made me select a day this week and today was the day she went. I dropped her off around 10:30 a.m. and picked her up at 2:30 p.m. I ran numerous errands while she was there to keep my mind off the fact that she was there. I know it would of been harder if I was just at home doing chores. Dropped things off at Goodwill, went to the bank, went to a baby boutique downtown, got a pedicure and had a doctor's appt.
When I picked her up she was totally mellow and did not cry at all on the way home. She has been in a really good mood since so I feel better about her going to daycare. I know it is hard the first few times, or maybe it never gets easier. Once I am back at work she will be going three days a week. The other days she will be home with me. My boss is letting me have a flexible schedule which entails me working from home two days. I am really happy about the arrangement.
Umm... off the subject, but how stunning did Michelle Obama look yesterday in not only that yellow-green outfit but also the white gown? Seriously, that lady is chic.
Here is a pic of my little pumpkin grinning for her mommy!

Not Feeling Good
Today I walked around the lake with my mom and Sonya and told her about it. She got super worried and insisted that the solution was to eat more fattening foods because I was so skinny. So at lunch she made me get a French Dip. Which was absolutely fabulous, by the way. I don't like feeling like this, especially when I am with Sonya. Hopefully there will be an easy way to solve the problem.
In other news, we purchased an SUV this weekend. It is a Toyota Highlander. It will initially be for the hubbs to drive, but I think we will do the car swap before we know it because I currently drive a smaller Volvo sedan. It is getting more and more inconvenient with a baby in the back and stroller.
Okay, peace out.
