He is 2 1/2, and he can POOP on the potty because he sort of had some notice before it happens, but he has NO BLADDER CONTROL... yet. Kids take a while to be able to control their bladder and the muscles that actually can KEEP PEE IN. This develops at different times for different kids, so you sort of just have to put underpants on them and guage how often they either pee in them or (if you're lucky) tell you they have to pee...?

It's a delicate dance, this potty training.Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11571662009601634638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6476275865995600398.post-61940136441146206722010-07-14T09:25:37.290-07:002010-07-14T09:25:37.290-07:00Thanks Christy. I did by some training pants for her to get used to pee training like what you suggested. We'll see!Stefaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10793314814708019931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6476275865995600398.post-61851695183783927442010-07-14T05:09:19.958-07:002010-07-14T05:09:19.958-07:00I think you might be pushing it. You really have ...I think you might be pushing it. You really have to wait until they are ready. Otherwise it will one big headache. TRUST ME! I just got my 4 year old potty trained. She was afraid of pooping on the potty. There was nothing we could do except wait for for her to get over the fear.

Also, when I pee trained my kids, I just took off their diapers and put on underwear. We never used training pants or anything. Of course they peed in their underwear a MILLION times the first day or two, but they quickly caught on and started using the potty within the week (pooping is another story though).Christyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00977781470147646616noreply@blogger.com
